Meet our Experienced Team

I am a Biomechanics specialist with a Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering, along with MS and BS degrees in Engineering and a Professional Engineering License.  I'm also an ACTAR Certified Automobile Accident Reconstructionist. As a Full Professor at Westmont College, my research focuses on the kinematics of human movement, balance, falls, prosthetics, and injury biomechanics. Combined, I have over 50 peer-reviewed journal publications and conference abstracts, 3 book chapters, and 8 external research grants totaling over 1 million.  I also completed a certificate in prosthetics and neurology-focused postdoctoral training.

I have over 40 years of safety research experience. Since 1999, I have been working at Automotive Safety Research. My areas of expertise include airbag restraint systems, crash sensor performance, module design, occupant packaging, inflation-induced injuries, and overall vehicle/restraint system crash performance. Prior to ASR, I worked for several companies, including a consultant to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) where I completed accident investigation, pre-impact maneuvering, and occupant injuries.  I have a BS and MS in engineering and 11 research publications.

For 40 years, I have worked with restraint system design, performance analysis, accident reconstruction, and general traffic safety consultation. My areas of emphasis include airbag restraint systems, crash sensor performance, module design, occupant packaging, inflation-induced injuries, and overall restraint system crash performance. I have experience with analyzing the technical issues of litigation cases, as well as expert testimony. I also have worked with AVS Technologies and Breed Automotive Corporation.
